Expecting a very deep, Kabbalistic response, I was surprised by his simple answer: "Because they have no talent. You can have all the right motivations but if you have no talent you will not produce nice music."Mo mentions the fact that the men with the biggest desire for the amud are the least talented. Every shul has a bunch of these guys. I think that they should be required to present a death certificate when claiming the amud for a yahrtzeit.
