Today, Himmelman refuses to tour for more than 21 days at a time – a decision he says is necessary to keep his family intact. “Losing my family is not worth a magazine cover,” he said. Himmelman advises aspiring musicians to first get married to ensure that they remain grounded. Describing some of his friends’ inability to settle down, Himmelman says, “It was cool when you are 20, 30, you have a lot of different girlfriends and you’re moving around, but now you’re middle-aged and it’s not so great anymore... in fact, it’s lonely.”Read the whole thing!
